I am not a fan of the new rock music being put out. As a matter of fact, I obsolutely hate it, esp when the same set of songs are played over and over again on conglomerate-controlled radio. So I started going backwards, becoming an aficionado of the classics of the late 60's through the 70's.

I myself have no one particular favorite musical decade or time period because there are elements of every time period that I enjoy on pretty equal footing. I love it all! Granted that's a boring answer, but it's true.

Its really hard for me to pin point any particular decade for music. Yesterday I was listening to Chuck Berry, and on my way home from work I was listening to 80's era Metallica.
I'd say most of my favorite music came from 60's and 70's rock.

I'm not knockin' 80's rock either. Metallica kicked @$$! But I like the Offspring, Guns-n-roses (now velvet revolver), the smashing pumpkins, and a bunch of other bands; they most certainly didn't and don't suck.

Early to mid-eighties when thrash and death metal was still underground, but the scene was buzzing.

I'd choose the 70's for films. It was a period of rapid growth and experimentation. It also heralded some of the most iconic films of all time - Dirty Harry, The Godfather, Jaws, Star Wars, Superman, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Close Encounters and Alien. Man... what a period.
