Umm...Good luck with that.
I've watched this story play out a few times. Bidding farewell to bachelorhood has some consequences by itself but compounding it with a mortgage means that you have traded "down-time" for an acquaintanceship with strong coffee.
Don't get me wrong, I admire those people who take on responsibilities. Never had the guts to do it myself.

it's call split shifting your sleep.. staight sleep.. what is that! dont' recall the last time i got straight 8 hours let alone 7.. but i'll get four and then later another.. or a 5 if i'm lucky and then later a 3... on good days.

p.s on bad days.. i can easily go 30 plus hours between seeing my bed at all!

Damn RPM you a third shift guy? I usually sleep that way on third shift. Work from 12-7am, and then sleep from 8 or 9 till 1 or 2, be up all night, sleep from 8 till 11 and go to work.
Working second for the past 8 months i been up till 6am sleep till 2. But going back to third in about a month, i'll be back to split. It seems to work well during daytime hours for some weird reason.

I've always thought about havin' the longest sleep..... sounds a lil' stupid but I want to be hooked up to a drip, catheter and all and be put into a coma for at least 3 weeks.

Yes, I work 3rd shift, 11p - 7a. Fiance works 2nd, 3p - 11p. I get up at 10p to go to work, get home around 7:30 am, am in bed by 8, and get up around noon to spend some time with the fiance. I then piddle around the house or run errands and whatnot, and then get a little nap around 7 - 8 until 10 when I get back up to do it all over again. This works very well, but lately with the house and we're short 2 dispatchers, there has been a fuckton of overtime, and I don't usually get a call until i'm already involved in something so i can't get the rest I want.
Such is life!!
I know what you're saying about the split sleeping tho, when my fiance and I worked the same shift, I'd get home around 8, be in bed by 8:30 and sleep until 3 then be up the rest of the day. I feel better splitting it up! Probably more sun helping out.
