The only time I had compassion for her was when Kanye West interrupted her speech. Before that, I never liked her. After Kanye, I still don't like her. This Taylor Swift hysteria defies logic.
Every year, I watch ten minutes of the Grammys (because if I watch more than ten minutes of it, I'll fall asleep). This time, I just happened to tune in when she won Album of the Year. I could not believe it! I thought I was the only one who thought she was overrated.
I did not like it when Kanye interfered, but I did agree with him that Beyonce should've won that award for Female Video of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards. Beyonce deserved that award more than the others who were nominated. I even told myself that if Taylor won that award that I was going to change the channel. That's how much I don't like her. I must've jinxed it 'cause she wound up winning it. I actually changed the channel. But I did turn it back just in time to see Kanye step in.
Taylor is the youngest female to win Album of the Year at the Grammy's, taking that honor from Alanis Morrisette when she that award back in 1996 when she was 21.
I don't know why she's winning all these awards. I'm still in disbelief that Taylor won Album of the Year.
Did you see how fast everyone left the arena after she won the last award? They, too, couldn't believe it.
Taylor Swift is overrated times TEN.
Perhaps I'll be a little more compassionate towards her in a few years from now. But at the present moment, I'm not buying into her. The next time she and Beyonce are nominated for the same award and Taylor wins it, I'll be so fucking pissed, you have no idea.

All pre-manufactured radio pop bullcrap is over-rated ear grating non-sense. Including Kanye and Beyonce.

now to answer national's question as to why shes overrated, the answer is MIDDLE AMERICA. they rule everything. those are the people who like jay leno and jeff dunham, watch two and a half men (theres a reason why thats the #1 comedy and other sitcoms are hurting), but most importantly, they are the people who LOVE country music.
now im not a fan of her mer music. in fact, i hate all country music, it makes my ears bleed. but im just waiting, because shes either going to go crazy (like amy winehouse crazy), or she will fade away.
lady gaga on the other hand, who btw i love her music. its amazing. but having the world talk about her every move, or whatever she wears is crazy. and then she makes music about the craziness in her life that she created.
but honestly, i think taylor swift and lady gaga are the wrong people to call overrated. there are people way more overrated. like someone whose name rhymes with Parah Salin.

I couldn't name 1 Taylor Swift song...but she has some great soles!
When she was on SNL, she did a skit barefoot...and the cameraman was catching a great view of her soles...that is all the fan I am!

I would hardly even call her country though, there is quite a few country songs that appeal to me, even if I am not really a big fan of country music. It just seems like the subject matter of T-Swift and others big pop stars are just beneath me intellectually.
Coming from a musician standpoint I often place sound over image and there isn't much talent in Taylors songs. Musically, they are a big snore.

I agree. I appreciate all genres of music. Some of it is't to my taste (rap, hip hop, metal and some others), but I can understand the following. I liked Taylor when she first started. She was fresh and had a new sound. But now, to my ears it sounds like she does the same performance repeatedly with different lyrics. As far as her innocent/humble attitude goes, give her a couple more years. She'll change. Ya can't ride that roller-coaster without getting full of yourself over time.
