For me it's the second toe. If it's longer than the first, I get turned off.
Second would have to be the big toe. If the nail bed is not squarish, but instead is more ovalish or anything else for that matter -- I'm over it.
Rounding it out would have to be the last toe, otherwise known as the pinky. If it has no nail, I'm over it. I like them longer with full nails.

I'd have to think the big toe is the President of the United Toes of Footland, so in terms of 'importance' I'd go with the big toe.
However, in terms of my favorite toe, as a devout foot worshiper? I'd have to say the second to last toe. I call it the 'ring toe' even though toe rings are generally worn on the second toe, due to its equal placement with the 'ring finger'. I find this to be the fleshiest, tastiest, most succulent toe.

I think the 2nd toe is very important. I hate it when they are longer than the big. I hate really long, knuckly 2nd toes. My fave combo is for the big toe to curve up slightly ( i call this the "bow of the boat" shape) and for the 2nd toe to slope down. I call this the "pincer effect" - and i love it!

Though I'm much more into judging the foot as a whole, if pressed, I guess I'd have to say I checkout the big toe first.

Love your description, that's exactly the combo I love!
Big toe for me. Must have a well shaped nail bed and be a tad on the plump side.

Also, 2nd toes nearly always have the toe ring.
So 2nd toe for me.
Good point...I have to agree

I'm going to sound a little odd but I really like the big toe of the left foot - of right-handed/footed women. It is usually just slightly more slender and tender than the toe of the right foot; I'm guessing that it is the result of most people starting to walk by pushing off on the dominant foot.
I will now accept being exhibited in a museum.

I like all the toes, but the big toe, followed by the pinky toe, stand out for me. As a man who likes large, full nail beds, seeing a nicely sized toenail on the pinky toe is a major turn-on. Yet somehow, the slivers are sexy to me as well, if it's shaped right.
