I have heard 3-7 percent of the general population are lifestyle foot fetishists. Basically, proud of being a foot fetishist and open about it to, well, everyone.
vs.
5-10 percent that have indulged in feet but are "in the closet" so to speak.

I can't prove it, but I believe it....1 OUT OF EVERY 5 GUYS has a female foot fetish, or an interest in feet, 20%! I don't care if they admit it or not, what culture, skin color, nationality, religion, conservative, liberal, it doesn't matter, it is all within us from the earliest of times, when feet were visible. Foot binding, foot washing, all these customs, rituals, all over the world, in some ways prove that there is greater foot interest then even we know or want to admit or understand!

I also believe that it may in fact also be location specific, ie., where you live. with the rituals, you metioned, yes, in some subliminal way, I think that there mos def is a childhood correlation that follows into adulthood.
I also think women in the south and on the coasts are much more open minded than middle america. So that being the case, I would also venture to "put out there" that men along these same regions would exhibit the same traits then, by comparison.

Last stat I heard was 12% of men. I don't think these kinds of things are ever accurate though.

I read one time that it was about 10% of the male adult population, and was the most prevelent "fetish" in the world, although in the United States cross-dressing was the most popular fetish per capita.

I'm agreeing with Royals in saying about 20-25% of the population (men and women; gay and straight) are into feet. I've seen a couple of documentaries to back that up...

I'd bet it's a lot more than anyone would guess. Foot-fetish still has a lot of stigma attached to it. There are also degrees of interest; some guys just find feet attractive while others literally live for women's feet. It is the most common of sexual fetishes.
