I should say, I use auto-focus when I am shooting in the range of about 18-50mm (wide angle up to portrait length) on my (18-135mm STM lens)...If I do any close ups of feet or faces I click on manual focus to sharpen exactly what I am trying to focusing on, like maybe the tips of toes or heels and only half the foot...wherever the focus should be on in that particular shot. I guess if you don't tell them what you want in the shot, then it's freestyle and actually harder to shoot (in my view). Yikes, if I shot in bracketing mode I would have like 1500 pics ..ugh that would time consuming to edit.

No, no, I don't bracket unless I'm going for some artistic shots while shooting - which I do at times. I just thought maybe you were using an auto fire (sports) type mode. I've done those for some stop action shots, like when a girl throws a sock at the camera, for example. I can get a bunch of photos in seconds, but I just don't seem to like them as much as me snapping each and every shot. I know my camera well, but I don't know it inside and out. Learned on a manual 35mm ages ago, but I will be the first to admit that I don't use all the settings on this T3i as most of the time, people don't care how artistic you are. As long as they see a cute girl with cute feet, they're happy. LOL... It's just neat to see what other do and how they operate.
As for the models not knowing the poses, that happens more or less with my newbies. Other girls, however, just start sticking their feet out and doing all sorts of things. Most of them have posed for me for a few years and know the deal. Most of the time though, I'm just out shooting with my personal friends and we're just enjoying the day anyhow. I rarely ever feel like I need to rush things, or get "X" amount of shots in "X" of time. There have been times that didn't hold true, however. LOL

Ok, so after doing some brainstorming and research it looks like the combination of the following is being used, some of these are hypothetical.
1. Craigslist 2. References (you have to have 1 to start with) 3. Strip Club 4. I'm hypothesizing here, but I think some people use escorts, somehow. 5. Model Mayhem (but you must have some quality photo's of a shoot to be a member)
And there you have it. The escort one fascinates me the most, but I think those who have access, must have an insider that gets them access to the escorts....

Model Mayhem is not even accepting foot content photographers anymore, heck...they haven't for years lol. If you dig hard enough, you can get your foot in the door "no pun intended" with the escort scene...might cost you a bit though.

I know I've been off topic, chatting with NorCal about how he shoots, but here are basic points:
- Most of how you meet the girls depends on what you want to do. If you're looking to do legit photography, and not just some snapshots on your cellphone, then I'd suggest showing off some of your non-foot fetish work to girls. Show them you know how to take pictures and then perhaps show them some examples of other's work and what you aim to do.
- If you don't really have much to show for photos, I'd say start simple. Ask a friend you trust and who trusts you. She doesn't need to be a model, but do some practice shots with her and give her a little something for her efforts. Even if it's not much, just something so you can build up a little portfolio. And if she does good, you got your first model. I've gotten like 60 or more non-models who are friends who have posed for me. LOL
- If you're already into production, girls on Twitter who model are looking for work. Seems like a lot of people who used to use the modeling portfolio sites (as I did for a couple years - One Model Place) just talk on social media now. But I'll warn you, if you're a phony just looking for a jolly, you won't get many girls to shoot as they do tend to talk to each other.
I'm actually writing a blog about my own models and how I find them, so I'll be sure to post a link to that when I eventually finish it. That will be kind of unique in my experiences, but still might help.

Okay, I didn't really get into the approach aspects in the blog as it was getting long winded as it was. Instead this blog focuses on 5 categories of girls and how they came to be on Soles of Silk. I'm going to do a follow up blog that focuses more on the approach down the road.

I think the original topic was, getting models if I recall. Any woman is accessible and attainable whether online or in public. You see something good, you go get it. Simple..nothing much to it.
