Wait a second, where's the smell? I read comments on this forum where guys wonder how a certain girl's feet would taste like. If there's no smell, there's no taste, so what the hell are you talking about? Life is not enjoyable if one of these five senses is lost. For everything to be complete, all five must be in play.
If you are offended by the smell, why have the fetish? I'm not saying that the smell has to be rancid. If you smell food that's very appetizing to you, aren't you more eager to eat it? Of course. So why is it the opposite for the feet? Licking smell-less feet is licking a wall.

I love the idea of a gorgeous woman with beautiful well taken care of feet, pedicured, fussed over feet, that then has a potent smell. It is the combination of something so pretty, looks so good, and then it surprizes you that it is smelly too. It is the contrast of beauty and stinkiness that fires me up. Not everyone thinks like you. For guys that are into the female rear end, they'd be turned off if it smelled like body odor. I'm into the female upperbody and i'd be pretty disappointed if her chest smelled like B.O..
The smelly feet guys are out there in my opinion. I'd imagine explaining that aspect of their fetish is the toughest. Most associate feet with dirt and unsanitary. Getting women to wash their feet before we play puts them and me at ease. Most i've met initially won't even let you touch their feet if they've been in shoes all day. Getting a woman over this hurdle is even more difficult than the "feet are sexy" hurdle because for the most part this is accepted.

Maybe it's the bodies own anti-incest power but whenever a relative has smelly feet it grosses me out! But when my girlfriend has smelly feet it makes me a bit excited >:3

taste?!? i dont want my wife's feet to taste like anything! when i suck her toes or lick her soles, i am doing it for the tactile sensation and the mental stimulation of knowing that a part of her i find so damn sexy is in my mouth. i dont want to taste sweat or lint or toe jam. her natural 'flavor' when they are clean is something i 'put up with' to feel her toes in my mouth.

To me it's a kind of good cop/bad cop, combination punch, double trouble, two-step. The smell was originally a put-off but then when desire overcame the obstacle that seemed to make it stronger. Good question. Some really like stinky feet; however, I don't. I do like the little musky smell of my wife's feet. I'm more of a tactile guy. I like the way feet feel.
