probably just took the dude alot longer to explain to the chic what a footjob was. of course this would've had to have occurred after seriously spending some time calming her down, or perhaps preparing her in advance for the news by filling her with lots of ale.
i woulda hated to be a footman back then, basically feeling like i lived in isolation.

Ah, the Sears catalog! National Geographic was also a good source for barefoot girl photos.

I bet for most people back during the medieval era, they probably though they were going to hell for being so deviant. It seemed like missionary, reproductive, joyless sex was the only good sex allowed back then.
Unless you had money, with which you could screw the rules.
People got by. Prostitutes have always been around, so there's that, plus people have always gotten married. And considering back then that women were absolutely expected to be subservient to men in all facets of life, if her husband wanted to lick her feet, well, she was going to let him, no matter what she thought.

I am 62 now so do the math! Growing up as a kid it was Sears and other catalogs, couldn't wait for the spring and summer issues when the sandals came out! Another direction I went into was watching self defense and martial arts demos with women, lots of bare feet (plus I also have a ball busting fetish so that was doubly good!) As I got older it was adult magazines, pretty tame by today's standards but very nice back then. In fact it was following up on an ad in an adult magazine that I had my first experience with foot worship. As far as the old times go, it was scandalous to even see a woman's ankle, let alone her feet! Led to a lot of repressed feelings and if you study history and read diaries and memoirs etc... you see some pretty wild things going on in private! Foot fetish has been around for as long as there have been feet. We have a long and proud history!

Marshall Ward catalogues were great in the 70's - in the eighties you hoped Playboy and other mags wouldnt cut the modles feet "off" though they most often did. in the late 80's Razzle really started to show the girls feet as a plus including a section just for female feet!

I'm a bit older than you and have similar memories of going through my mother's mail-order catalogs or one or another newspaper. Back in the '60s, the pre-Murdoch New York Post had a gossip columnist named Earl Wilson who frequently ran (albeit small) pictures of bikini-clad starlets, which I cut out and used for, shall I say, inspirational purposes. But catalogs were definitely a good source too. (Hey, you make do with what you have.) However, I sometimes wonder how crazy I might have gone if the Web had existed about 40 years ago, though I jerked off a lot as it was. (Still do, I'm proud to say!)

perhaps less people (ratio-wise) had foot fetishes back then, because feet may have not been as exposed in public, they were probably exposed less to children (usually when the fetish was developed) and lastly, probably women didnt wear much manmade materials(although they probably showered less) causing female feet to smell(this has an effect on maybe over 50% of foot fetishists and how the scent is related to them developing their fetish..)

I'm another geezer like catsman and podder and I remember a cover of Walt Disney Magazine with Annette Funicello on the cover. This was around the time she was getting boobs and outgrowing the mouse ears. 1959 or '60 - I was in 8th grade. They had her standing in a sweet yellow dress, no stockings, and black leather flats. She had her weight on her back foot and was putting her best foot forward posed at an angle with her ankle curved and the toe of her shoe curled up so you could see a little of the sole, and the side of her foot pulling away from her shoe just enough to create that magical little dark space. That was one of the signature images of my puberty. It's like when it's really quiet and a little noise stands out. Good thing I wasn't Superboy - I would have burned a hole in that picture staring at it. I guess that was my first porn. And through the next couple decades, it was like the other guys say, it was catalogs and mainstream men's mags, looking for the foot aspects. But I thought the mainstream softporn industry knew we were out there and regularly included a little something for us as part of their repertoire. That seemed like a fringe benefit of foot fetish - you don't have to pay inflated prices for hardcore porn if you can achieve the desired effect with JC Penney. In the 80's I discovered Leg Show magazine and I felt like that's a good spin, or a good cover, for foot fetish. Being a "leg man" seemed socially acceptable, but foot fetish still seemed like a dirty secret. I'm very glad the online world came along.

First website I recall was Toetally Extreme followed by GreatFeet.com... Must have been 1998 by then... Then came some links pages from Ickawon, Aragon etc.. some of these are still around...

We're in an age where we're inundated with information about stuff. Back then there was nothing like that, it wasn't as obsessive.
Funnily enough we went over this in a lecture, though it was to do with sex-porn, not fetish-porn. Basically people probably didn't know they had a fetish or because there was no definition of it it wasn't sought out as much. People still engaged in this kind of behaviour yea.
Gahh it's too late here. In a nutshell - now we're in the modern times we have too much within reach. Modern day life also breeds obsessions. It'll only change in the future too.

For me it was the old Sears catalogs for me as well as a child back in the 70s. Probably more voyeurism on my part looking at teacher's and girl's feet in school from really early on. Didn't discover actual foot porn until 1986 in college when a guy down the hall from me in my dorm loaned me a huge stack of Leg Show Magazines.
I've posted pictures before of artwork from a Polish novelist/artist that featured lots of foot fetish content in some of his drawings. His career was cut short in a Jewish ghetto by the bullet of a Nazi officer.

What did it for me is the girls on my street growing up had this contest on "who was the toughest" and would have me stand on their toes to see who could take it the longest. After they were done I would get to rub their sore red toes. I know this is kind of weird, but it wasn't my idea. So I was subjected to a bunch of young feet at an early age. Catalogs did ok too but when ya got the real thing....
