Greetings good foot folk,

In the near future I'll be starting my own site, but have a couple questions.

1. Do you have the subject sign the contract before or after the shooting?

2. Also do you offer flat or hourly pay?

Thanks!

1. Yes, it's always a good idea. Even if shooting with people you know, it's always good to cover your bases - especially if you're going to shoot adult content (footjobs, nudity, bondage, etc.).

2. It all depends. I have an hourly rate, but also have just paid models a flat rate for an entire day and did whatever we could get in. Most people do the per hour thing.

1. Yes. I always have my models sign a release no matter what.

2. Depending on the content I'm after with that particular model, I may offer hourly instead of per session.

1. Yes before shooting. You may also want to consult an attorney first as well

2. In My opinion - Never pay hourly because it has been proven that many models are clock watchers & more importantly with women in general there is always a chance of her not being ready in front of the camera on time and also if you are shooting video content time may be needed for instruction ( and those are just a few of the reasons)... Also if you are starting out you will be surprised by how many of your female friends you could get to shoot for free to help you out in the beginning.

Good Luck!

1. Your subject should sign the release [basic or 2257] after the shoot. You need to make sure the shoot goes well and you are happy with it.

Sidebar: I have reduced the pay and time for shoots because girls misunderstood the content. That meant, I amended the release. You don't want girls signing for a higher amount up front, and end up paying them a lower amount.

2. Hourly is mainly for bigger operations, ones with lots of scripting and directing, intense costumes or frequent wardrobe changes, breaks, etc. Its better to mark out a set amount of time and pay a flat rate for it.

Sidebar: Never pay up front! Regardless of how a girl tells you she is used to receiving her money...do not do it! She could take the money and walk. If you touch her, you would be charged with assault.

Thanks guys,

I've decided that after many years (I've been shooting since 2010) I'm going to give starting a site a try. My stuff is vanilla in comparison to some. The style is like this:

http://www.model-kartei.de/bilder/galerie/251855/

Signatures go on the release (contract) after the shooting, but document gets reviewed in advance.

I always pay after the shoot as well. Paying in advance screams "Danger Will Robinson!" Pay by the hour is the norm, but I'm going to start offering a flat rate. My last two shootings were two hours long, but I was under a lot of pressure to get a lot in a relatively short time period. Clock watching saps the fun out of it. [Smile]

Thanks,

I have a candidate in mind, but she'll likely only do it if I don't show here face. [Roll Eyes]

There's a model from the Czech Republic I really want to shoot, but she charges a 50% deposit. Her rates are also a bit high for non-commercial stuff. The rate she quotes for commercial work was staggering. [Eek!]

1)I'll mimic what Patrick said here and add: Every time, all the time...even if you are too lazy to print them up, do it. If you are receiving pay for your website at all you need to do this. Mainly to cover your butt in case there is some legal mix up later. Been there done that and had to remind a couple models to kick rocks and refer to the Model Release.

2)Hourly or flat, really doesn't matter as long as YOU set the rate, not her. Offer more if you are venturing away from "Vanilla" as you put it. Oh but wait, after 10 years most of us still don't have the necessary skills to pick up girls to do this for free..my bad. [Laugh] [Confused]

Thanks good sir,

A model releases is always signed when I shoot foot stuff (non-commercial or not). I determine the rates and if the model doesn't agree, we can discuss it. If they want 500-1000 Euros...NEXT!

Like many getting that "hot chick off the street" is not easy for me and not a huge interest either. I prefer contacting girls on model portals. This isn't cost effective, but it works me. [Big Grin]

I haven't give up on a shoot with her, but only if terms are suitable for both parties. She lives near Prague and there are a few models that might be interested for (far) less money. [Thumbs Up]

It depends on what country you are from and what the laws there are. Not to mention what type content you are looking to shoot. Strictly feet/non nudity, foot jobs, nudity, etc. There would obviously be some legal ramifications there.

I'm not a webmaster nor do I have any desire to be one, but I've never felt that convincing a random female off the streets to recruit as a potential model to simply show and take pictures of her feet is any different than if you wanted to attract her in general and obtain her phone number for instance. The same methods, techniques and rules of attraction I imagine would still apply. If your goal is to set up a later date or appointment to shoot with her, it would be the same approach as if you wanted to secure a second date with her; you have to give her a reason to want to hang out with you again. I don't imagine simply handing her a business card or promising her money, would in itself be enough the majority of the time.

Many females are simply looking to have a fun experience and a fun time. I would think that if you first approach them and start immediately telling her that she needs to sign release forms, what pay rates are and throwing around all these legal terms and consulting with attorneys, could be more a deterrent to her posing rather than piquing her interest and curiosity. It may naturally make her feel or give her the impression that she's partaking in something illegal and that it could possibly get both her and you in trouble. She might then feel nervous and be reluctant to pose.

I don't feel there's any need to get worked up over and make such a big deal over something as pedestrian as feet. There's absolutely no harm in feet. Often, I think foot enthusiasts themselves are the ones that end up making it a bigger deal for others than what it really is.

In addition to the ones who have already commented in this thread, there are many other great webmasters/photographers in the community that do resplendent work who would be more than willing to help you and offer you advice.

Good luck. [Smile]

Thanks,

I honestly have very little interest in random women on the street. Done it and it's a waste of time for me.

I'm a member of a few modelling portals and this is where I make contact with prospects. Most of these women expect a contract discussing pay and image usage. Many girls would be reluctant if you approached them on the street.

I get lots of "no" answers, but as GGN says it's not a numbers game. I'm still going to give it a "go" and thanks for the well wishes! [Cheers]

Do what works best for you and don't believe half the BS you see posted here lol. I never asked for help nor knew anything about this business way back in 2005 and had to learn all the ropes myself on what works and what doesn't. I have an equal number of "randoms" versus "contracted models" and the result is always the same (I get to see their feet and take great, fun pics of them). No one really cares about first contact, they are more interested in the final product. They don't call me the Finisher for nothing [Joint]
