As a musician by trade, I got around to wondering if anybody else out here on the forums is a musician in some capacity, whether it also be professional or perhaps semi-professional, amateur, or even just a bedroom hobbyist. I'd like to hear from you!

Yep. I play piano, guitar, and I sing. It's a lot of fun!

I was the rythm guitarist & singer for a ska/oi band about ten years ago. We were just local, although we played out of state one time. It was a fun time. I wouldn't mind doing it again. [Cool]

Realizing this topic is dead, I decided to post anyway. I am a drummer, and pictures of my drums can be found at www.nykword.tk, in the pictures section.

187 accidentally stuck a comma together with his URL, so here's the fixed link for those who'd like to check it out:

Nice website bro, I enjoyed taking a tour of it. Nice drumset as well. For rock, I've always enjoyed the sound of Tama kits with Zildjian cymbals. Other observations: Your greyscaled rose graphic reminds me a lot of a greyscaled iris graphic that I used on an EP back in 1996. Good taste! Beyond that, you also seem to espouse the same self-teaching philosophy that I do. Thanks for sharing with us.

Well, now that I feel like everybody who's going to respond has, here's my basic story. Aside from female feet, yes indeed, music is my passion. I began teaching myself guitar around fifteen years ago, writing and performing original compositions, inspired by a countless string of artists that span the gamut of recorded music, so I won't list them. I then added keyboard synthesizers, electronic percussion, & MIDI programming to my musical résumé about two years later. I've been doing them simultaneously ever since with an emphasis on guitar since I still consider that to be my main instrument. Many bands, recordings, and moons later, I'm currently a studio musician who continues to write & perform original material, but who also frequently contributes to the live & recorded works of others via performance & production assistance.

With currently 2,582 registered members here on Wu's forums, I was somewhat surprised that only 4 of us came forward to say that we're either full-time, part-time, or any-time musicians. In the #feet chat channels that I frequent on IRC, it seems like everybody (and their mothers) is a musician, enough so to the point where the possible connection between foot fetishes and musical ability has often been discussed in the channels, albeit humorously. hehe Perhaps there are more of us lurking about out here somewhere. I didn't take bashfulness into account.

Music is my passion as well. It's a wonderful thing, and I'm glad I can spend my spare time on it.

I just saw this thread! Essentially I'm writing to ask Calico Jack how to access IRC and the feet channels on it. I'm really trying to make contact with other foot fans in the uk... But yeah - I'm a musician as well. Been doing it for years. Started dubbing from tape to tape many moons ago when didn't have a multi-track and now have a set up based around a DAW on a Mac. Hard to believe what you can do nowadays - especially from someone who remembers when 4 seconds of sampling time was ages! [Wink] What I do is all electronic based though and always has been.

Hi mizubaku, thanks for responding! I knew we had more musicians out here somewhere. hehe Now then, how to access IRC? There's no simple way to describe the process, but I'll do the best I can.

1) Well, the first step would be to visit www.mirc.com and download a copy of the latest version (6.16) of the mIRC software.

2) Once you've downloaded the file, double-clicking on it will automatically launch the setup installation program. When it completes, you'll have your new mIRC icon on your desktop.

3) By double-clicking on the icon & opening the program, you'll see an "mIRC Options" box pop up which will require various information under the "Connect" header. Fill in the blank spaces with the required info. (Don't actually put your real name in the space that asks for it unless you actually want everybody on IRC to see your real name.)

4) Once all the requested info has been filled in, click on the "Servers" header and you'll see a dropdown menu box from which you can select a server to connect to. I recommend you try & connect to either Undernet or DALnet, as those are the two IRC networks that have an active #feet channel on them.

5) Once you're connected to the network, just type (without the quotes) "/join #feet" and then hit Enter.

Feel free to peruse the help documentation that comes with the program, but if I'm around at the time, I'll be glad to help you from that point with the basics that you'll need to know. It's real easy once you get the hang of it. Hope this wasn't too much of a headache. I know it can look pretty bad in print.

This is Neo, I had to use Pink`s. Just saw this thread. Music is one of our major loves in life. I had a friend say one time "You have some serious pipes(voice), you might as well learn an instrument as well" and handed me a bass. I have been learning the bass ever since. Jaco Pastorius and Les Claypool know what is up!

thanks for all the info Jack and taking the time to write it!

Trouble is I can't download a mac version from that website. But I'm sure you can access IRC with some software that comes with the Mac. But I'm not sure what. Any Mac IRC users out there who knows? Thanks!

>I have been learning the bass ever since.

Rock on Neo, we need more accomplished bass players in the world! I never seem to be able to find one whenever I need one for a project, so they'd appear to be in shorter supply than I'd like to find them in these days. On the other hand, just yesterday I got together for the first time with a bass player that I'll be using for projects at the end of this month and then again in October, and thankfully everything worked out great & he was totally on top of his game. Oh and I'm totally with ya on the Jaco & Les namedropping. Both reputedly amazing bass players in their own unique ways. Jaco was taken from us much too soon.

[Thumbs Up]

I'm not a Mac user, but I can certainly point you in the right direction. You want to go right here.
