I read the thread....i'm not sure if anyone said it was ILLEGAL to ask a girl for socks or proposition them for foot worship. What is being said is that it is NOT socially acceptable and far better to just do the normal thing and date a girl. It is better for you...the guy...and better for the girl.
As for creepy dudes....you guys are missing my point. Even the guy who thinks he is being inconspicuous actually is not. I don't know a girl that would see a dude filming them...good looking or not and be cool about it! Even if a hot chic were filming me i'd be creeped out. And i'm big dude! Imagine being a girl in that situation where protesting could cause her harm? That's the point...being considerate to others will prevent the creepy vibe. This is why so many guys have to resort to buy dirty laundry to satisfy their needs...they can't get over themselves.
Be more concerned about the connection with the woman/people and you'll avoid the creepy vibe. Focus on the sexual act and you'll have to pay to play.

To go up and ask a random woman to smell their feet or buy their socks is just asking for trouble.
There might be some cool women up for it, but I can't see an everyday, non-porn woman just saying, "Cool!"
Would hate to see anyone get in trouble for something that makes us 'feet people' look 'abnormal' in the 'normal' people's eyes.
While it isn't illegal, do you want security or law enforcement asking you questions, trying to find something to hassle you on, or have a group of people surround you...or someone from your workplace or neighborhood finds out about it and then you got this stigma.

I also agree with GQ. It just isn't socially acceptable.
My wife knows about the smell fetish even though I don't like it. Even so, I know she would be severely put off if someone approached her about things like this.
This type of behavior is just plain creepy...
