As much as I would like to use something other than C4S, the ease of use and unlimited file hosting is hard to beat. Losing 40% of all income sucks, but it's much easier than any other method I've found.

Honestly, anyone setting up a C4S/BHE site with the end goal of rolling in cash and it becoming their sole (no pun intended) source of income is probably foolish. It can probably generate a few hundred or $1,200 bucks each month, but it becoming a solid $100K/yr venture is highly unlikely...

i don't think their search engine is good, you type in "footjob" and literally hundreds of stores pop up, who has the time to sort through all of them to find the good stuff?
Email: I wish that was the case. I'm still waiting on two orders for clothing from online stores that haven't shipped items I've ordered. I think you place too much faith in people's promptness. I don't even get to all my emails all the time because I work a full time job, do freelance, do Wu's Feet Links, and Soles of Silk. So I disagree with you on this.
Search: So having to search through a few thousand stores on Clips4Sale is easier than going through those same few thousand stores and "hopefully" someone's random Twitter account or forum post to find a clip you're looking for? Unless you just so happen to be on that person's page and want to buy it, I think you're finding things on Clips4Sale easier.

why not just keep the video on your hard drive and then upload it to a file sharing site when somebody places an order and than email them the link to the file?
it takes a few minutes to upload a file
i'm sure it's easier but for me personally i'd go through the minor inconvenience if it saved me 40% of my income
Anyone who has done server set up will shake their head at this. Is the mom and pop shops doing these clips running a high speed server with software to back it up because computer to computer transfer is not that fast. So if you have a few people wanting to download from you at once... you're screwed on speed big time! That's the truth.

2 problems with C4S or I4S is the fact they automatically take out 30-40% and if your bank takes out for a wire transfer...there's another $10. So you're not making really ANYTHING off your hard work.
Second..and even worse, is the fact they report to the IRS how much money (BEFORE THEIR CUT) you "gross" so you end up having to pay taxes on all that you didn't even see. Good luck having enough write-off's or receipts at the end of the year to cover the amount. Officially, my I4S store is closing once I hit the mark before the 1099 kicks in..fuck them, it's not worth the hours and hours of specially filing and .ZIP folder creations, hours of uploading to servers, etc...for what I get out of it. Rather people came to my website instead.
But if you're wondering about their 'service' and reliability, it's actually top notch and 'mostly' headache free other than the financial aspects of it.

I can see where this guy is coming from saying it's more effective running your own site, but in most cases, that's just not a good option. I don't have a cell phone at all, just my computer. Not all of us have the ability to check our email constantly and uploading the files you need at the time the customer wants is hardly an easy task. And don't get me started on how long it takes to upload a video. Could take minutes, could take many hours.
For a small time hobbyist like myself, C4S and I4S are good enough.

all you do is upload the file to one of those sites and then email them the link
you don't have to worry about server set up
The way it looked, when I read it, was that you're saying to host it on a server yourself - like one dedicated for file sales in your house. If you're talking an outside server that other people run that you'll be making money off of and publishing adult content to, then you're opening up a whole other can of worms with 2257 laws and such.
I'm not saying it is impossible, but the amount of work you're asking someone to do is starting to add up to full time job levels.

I'm saying that it's a full time job... so if you have one of those already - like I do, and many of us site producers also have, now you have two.
Like I said, I'm not knocking your idea or anything, I'm just saying it is a ton of work to do a work around. I can see why many people want to throw their stuff up and let the rest take care of itself. Even if this is a model/producer's full time gig, they need time to go out there and make the content and then digitize it (sometimes that takes a ton of time). Sitting around just answering emails all day so you don't have pissed off customers who want the video when they're ready to "enjoy it," isn't realistic.
