I've been using the handle for over 10 years and on pretty much most forums I'm on now.
I got it as a prank name I made when I used AOL back in the mid 90s. I created an extra account to harass a friend of mine in e-mail or IMs. He'd e-mail back my regular account saying he was being stalked by some evil satanic person and I would feign sympathy when I'd reply back to him. I kept it up for about a week before fessing up.

I'm pretty much just touting the fact that I'm Salvadoran American and proud. As for the Mic, well, my stepdad and his family are Irish, and I've pretty much grown up as much Irish as I have Salvadoran since I was at least 5. I know there's supposed to be a K there at the end, but I dropped it and kept it that way ever since. I'm pretty much Salvy_Mic everywhere I go on the internet.

it was the name of a site i used to run, sometimes it decides to sticks to forums. a mind of its own!
i basically bought the domain as a joke between me and a friend to host great content but with names that nobody would know but come to remember. If that makes any sense! we were both studying at university at the time and it was in the late 90's.
