I know people like me in the U.S. still have nothing compared to other parts of the world in terms of high gas prices....but it was $3.07 early in March and two months later I'm already seeing $3.79 in many spots....put $10 in the tank and that only got me 2 & 2/3 gallons.

I'm borrowing my mom's car as mine is in the body shop and it cost me $58 to fill it up. The car is a friggen '97 Buick and is a huge gas sponge of a boat. Price of gas at my local station $3.61 a gallon for regular. Highest I've seen it in my life. Back in high school around '85 I remember paying .50 a gallon for regular leaded gasoline in my old '68 Chevy.

Last Saturday, I filled up at BP, regular 87 octane for $53.46. I pumped 13.571 gallons and that comes out to $3.939 a gallon. And I am no where near Chicago. I'm in the burbs. Cost for a gallon in downtown Chicago, avg $4.50 a gallon.
