Two teams in the NFL this season have gone on lengthy winning streaks after losing to the Cleveland Browns: the New Orleans Saints, and the New England Patriots.

Interesting (to sports fans, at least), and odd!

EDIT: It also helps to have Drew Brees and Tom Brady, respectively. Just saying.

The longest word in the English language has 189,819 letters. Methionylthreonylthreonylglutaminylarginyl...isoleucine.

And the phobia of long words would be...

"hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia"

(Both of which are longer than "antidisestablishmentarianism" which I don't get...)

The Bible was the first book to be printed and therefore mass-produced. As crude as a metal thingamie dabbed in ink and hand-pressed onto the paper.

The bible is also the most stolen book in the U.S (possibly the world)with the introduction of it in hotels.

The most stolen book from libraries is the Guinness World Book Of Records - it holds the record.

In Mohave County, Arizona, if anyone is caught stealing soap, he must wash himself with it until the soap is gone.

(According to local law)

The one and only scientific study that has ever been done on the carcinogenic effects of second-hand smoke has been disproved. Yet we have the banning of it in public places, stating the main reason to be health of those around you.

Bits of dirt in the glass are what makes champagne "fizzy".

Had to lower the tone...*disappointed look*

[Laugh]

Way back when, in MI5 the honourable and pleasingly named Mr Cummings, head of MI5, is quoted as saying "Every man has his own, unique stylus" in reference to the fact that, as with lemon juice, semen could be used as an "invisible ink" for operatives behind enemy lines to pass and receive messages to their handlers.

There is a law in Spain in which it is stated that the husband MUST help the wife out with the household chores.

This law was brought in approximately 3-5 years ago.

I'll just assume there's a load of lurkers who enjoy these facts, rather than I'm just a lonely little scouser [Wink]

The original bell, now referred to as the Liberty bell, was cast in London and came to America
shore in 1752.

It doesn’t matter how fresh-picked they are, coffee beans are actually tasteless until they’re roasted.

One of my favourite books, "Lord of the Flies" by Willy Golding was initially referred to by a publisher as:“an absurd and uninteresting fantasy which was rubbish and dull.”

To date, the book has been required reading in high schools for nearly fifty years, 14.5 million copies have been sold, and Golding’s work has been adapted for film twice.

The board game 'Monopoly' is so popular, that there is more Monopoly money printed in a year, than real money printed throughout the world. There is $15,140 in each game.
