I like that one - language/word ones always fascinate me.

The longest word in the English language, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, is pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis.

The only other word with the same amount of letters is pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconioses, its plural.

I knew you would like that one. Facts involving how the language is structured can make anyone put on a challenge to see if it can be proven wrong. I want to see someone prove that there is another word in the English language that ends in the letters "mt."

Speaking of language, here's another one: Facetious and abstemious contain all the vowels in the correct order, as does arsenious.

If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both front legs in the air, the person died in battle; if the horse has one front leg in the air, the person died as a result of wounds received in battle; if the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes.

Since it flew faster then the terminator line moves across the earth, the Concorde could produce a seeming sunrise in the west to its passengers if it took off after sunset toward the west.

In the era of 'iron men and wooden ships' during large battles such as the glorious 1st of june, and Trafalgar, it was common for the wind to die off in the immediate area due to all the guns being fired off for long periods of time and so near by one another.

A large explosion next to an oil fire will indeed put it out. As Jamie Hyneman says "When in doubt... C4."

Clocks in GPS satellites have to be calibrated every now and again to agree with clocks on earth. It's not that either are innacurate; both quite accurately record the duration of a second. It's just that the duration of a second differs depedning on where you are in space, due to speed and gravity.

The average airliner is struck by lightning twice per year. The passengers rarely know when it occurs.

Yeah I couldn't wait to use lethologica (in context)...when the context came...I ironically forgot the word [Cry]

Nothing in the English language will rhyme with either orange or purple...there is an exception I believe that is like a certain section of the Qu'ran called something that rhymes with purple or something like that, but alas, it isn't in the dictionary.

"Aglet" is the name given to the little plastic bits on the end of shoelaces. Comes from some Latin bollocks...

US toilets are 100 times more dangerous than British ones according to statistics [Roll Eyes] . In 1996, 43,687 Americans were hospitalized after toilet disasters.

Whether they're more dangerous or Americans are more stupid is open to interpretation, but thems the facts and figures.

If you're gonna say it, just come out and say it, Andy! Don't be a wuss.

I've never had a "toilet disaster" myself.

I don't know what you mean [Roll Eyes]

"Typewriter" is the longest word one can type on a standard QWERTY keyboard, using only the top row of letters.
